The prefix "Bluedawn" was originally conceived in 1976 when I started my Australian pony stud. The ponies were shown both in hand and under saddle for great success up to Royal Show level. In 2006 the stud was dispersed due to circumstances beyond my control and Bluedawn Egyptian Arabians was founded at this time.
Bluedawn Egyptian Arabians:
Bluedawn Egyptian Arabians was founded in 2006 with the purchase of our first Straight Egyptian filly Simeon Siliet at 4 months of age.
The stud is founded on the tail female line of 27 Ibn Galal-5 through her daughter Simeon Sukari.
Selectively breeding the mares with the finest stallions to perpetuate true Southern Arabian type bred by the famous Iconic Egyptian breeder Abbas Pasha 1.
In 1985 I was fortunate to be introduced to the now famous 27 Ibn Galal V and my passion for the Arabian horse was inflamed. 27 Ibn Galal V was the epitome of an Arabian mare in my eyes and I knew that one day I would have an Arabian mare descended from this Simeon stud matriarch.
I visited Ron and Lorraine Bond from Chaswyck Arabians on the 26th January 2006 and they were so warm and welcoming it was an instant friendship that has lasted to this day. During our discussions I mentioned that I was keen to purchase a Straight Egyptian filly with a tail female line to 27 Ibn Galal V and Ron encouraged me to contact Marion Richmond of the Simeon Stud.
I rang Marion Richmond and organised a visit to view some fillies she had that Marion felt would interest me. On the 4th February 2006 I nervously made my way from Brisbane Queensland to Sydney and Simeon Stud, Mrs Richmond was a warm and gracious host presenting her wonderful Arabian stallions in Asfour (DE), Imperial Madaar (US) and Anaza Bay Shahh (US) before presenting some youngstock from the 27 Ibn Galal V line. Marion then showed the broodmares and we stopped at the exquisitely beautiful Simeon Sukari (Asfour x 27 Ibn Galal V), Sukari’s 2005 Imperial Madaar filly was on the opposite side playing shy and when she walked around from behind her mother and into view it was love at first sight. I purchased the filly now named Simeon Siliet and Bluedawn Egyptian Arabians was born.
Bluedawn Hanoverian Warmblood's:
The Hanoverian section of Bluedawn was founded by a conversation with Stacey Sharman who had leased the exquisitely beautiful, exceptionally bred and amazing producing Sandro-D (Imp Ger) also known as Sandy. Stacey was waiting for her foal out of Sandy to be born when she was advised that Sandy was for sale. I had no idea of Warmblood breeding or bloodlines but knew that this mare was a most beautiful mare that should be treasured. I contacted a friend, to discuss a possible partnership in Sandy's ownership and Sandy arrived at Bluedawn in October 2018 at rising 18 years of age. There began Bluedawn Hanoverian Warmbloods.
Bluedawn Australian Ponies:
Bluedawn Australian Ponies was founded in 1976 with the purchase of the stallion Daydawn Cimarron. Cimarron was instrumental in nurturing a love for the Australian Pony that has stayed with me for the last 45 years. During this time a love for certain bloodlines developed with the nurturing of some of our founding Australian Pony breeders. At the time of the original disposal of the stud I had acquired the bloodlines they I longed for all my life, it was heartbreaking to lose these lines but at the time necessary.
2021 has seen the resurrection of Bluedawn Australian Ponies and the search was on for those bloodlines I so loved. Bluedawn now has the foundation of a wonderful stud and will be breeding Australian Ponies that are devoid of any further Welsh crosses in their ponies.
